In 1992, a small group of dedicated people, concerned that no archive of local historical records existed which covered the entire Blayney Shire area, joined together to promote the collection and preservation of local information, records and material.
Their secondary aim was to encourage and promote interest in local and family history research. Thus began the Blayney Shire Local and Family History Group Inc.
Since it's formation, the group has been active in building a valuable local genealogical and historic record centre which is located at the:
Blayney Public Library,
48 Adelaide Street, Blayney.
